A Baha’i Inspired Compilation for Expectant Parents.

Recently I have had the marvelous fortune of family and friends having babies. I find myself thinking of these new parents and the blessings of raising a new life and discovering new meanings in the Baha’i prayers for newborns.

O Thou peerless Lord!
Let this suckling babe be nursed from the breast of Thy loving-kindness,
guard it within the cradle of Thy safety and protection and grant that it be reared in the arms of Thy tender affection.

The birth of a child is a divine moment to behold. I feel so grateful for all these new flowers blooming in God’s garden. I remember when we had each of our children we decided to have a naming ceremony inviting close friends and family, sharing prayers, music, food, and best wishes for the new addition to our family. I was asked by one of my young Baha’i parent friends to help with a Baha’i naming program (optional) for their newborn. I came across this wonderful Baha’i-inspired resource put together by  Kamelia  Khoshmashrab,  a Baha’i mother in Australia.

The compilation was the answer to my prayers.  It is designed to help Baha’i parents with a range of topics from pre-pregnancy until after birth to care and attend to the material and spiritual care of parents and their families in the Divine embrace.

We go out of our way to prepare every material mean we can possibly get for our little ones. It is also most befitting to prepare the village in whose loving embrace our children will be nurtured, grow and develop in the utmost beauty, join in harmony and unity, and praise God while wishing the best for a sacred trust.

I hope Baha’i parents find the material helpful.
