ON THE INTEGRATED CONCEPTION OF MORAL EDUCATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION AND ITS PRACTICE

Abstract

Moral education in higher education institutions, which has witnessed great development, should continuously open up new phases. The basic point of innovation should promptly upgrade from the innovations of methodology and technology to those of conception and theory, transit from experience-based innovations of methodology and technology to those guided by the new conception and theory, among them, the innovation of conception is directive and fundamental. Nowadays, we should establish an integrated conception in the moral education of higher education institutions. Under the domination of the integrated conception, moral education should focus on the comprehensive upgrading of the students’ ideological and moral quality, the joint exertion of the leading role of higher education institutions and the influence of society, and the full-scale exploitation of the educational resources of higher education institution from the view of aim, the way of performance and the mode of practice respectively. It is only through consistency with the integrated conception can we reach the development of moral education in higher institutions.

Born on November 6th, 1971, Shen Zhuanghai is a professor with Ph.D.

His primary researches focus on the fundamental theories of ideological and political education, the Marxist theory of culture and Chinese socialist cultural advancement, comparative study on ideological and political education, etc. He published multiple books, represented by A Study on the Effectiveness of Ideological and Political Education and The Cultural Perspective of Ideological and Political Education, in addition to approximately 100 papers.
